Traffic guide of Tokyo ⇔ Mount Fuji
There are direct buses from Tokyo to Mount Fuji 5th station in July and August.
You can also take a bus from Kawaguchiko to Mount Fuji 5th station, a popular tourist destination just below Mount Fuji.
The highway bus is the best way to go to Mount Fuji from Tokyo.
It will save you the trouble of transferring buses and carrying your luggage around.
Popular Climbing Routes
1. Yoshida Route
Yoshida route is on the Northern Yamanashi prefecture.
Grab a local bus from Kawaguchiko station or Fujisan station to Fuji Subaru line 5th station.
Features of the Yoshida Route
The trail going up the mountain is different from the trail going down.
There are many mountain huts where you can rest on the way up, but there are not many on the way down.
It is the most popular route - almost half of the climbers use the Yoshida route.

2. Fujinomiya Route
Fujinomiya route starts from Fujinomiya 5th station, and it is on the Southern Shizuoka prefecture.
Feature of Fujinomiya route
Of the four routes, Fujinomiya starts at the highest point, and it is the shortest route to the top.
It is the second most popular route.
It is steep, and the path is rocky.
The route going up the mountain and going down the mountain are the same.
However, it is not necessary to take the same route when climbing down. You can choose the route you want.
